Case Study Overview

In this case study video, you can hear from Jonathan, a 28 year old from Huntingdon. Thanks to his job as a medical design engineer, Jonathan knew a little about clinical trials before getting in touch with FluCamp, but still had some concerns around the virus and what drug he would receive during his trial. However, he found the amount of information he had access to and the explanations from staff to be very reassuring. He talks about how he enjoyed getting to know the staff and other volunteers, and even caught up on some Netflix TV binging while he was there! Ultimately, Jonathan was motivated by knowing that these trials can help get life-changing drugs onto the market, which can make a huge difference to people’s lives.

If you’re thinking about taking part in a FluCamp trial, then our case studies are a great way to find out a bit more about what your time with us could be like. They give you the opportunity to hear about how it feels from a real person who’s been there and done it, and can give you more context than typical facts and figures.

Our Everyday Heroes volunteer to work on a variety of clinical trials with us, all of which have the end goal of helping us to find cures for the common cold and flu viruses. As well as this, they help us to research treatments to reduce the severity of asthma attacks, and the symptoms asthma sufferers experience.
