FluCamp is expanding! We are happy to announce that we will be opening a new primary volunteer recruitment screening facility in Plumbers Row, London, E1 1EP (“Plumbers Row Facility”) and a new and improved secondary FluCamp recruitment facility in Manchester, M1 4HA. Please read the following blog about our new clinics!
Why we are expanding
Our new sites will double our capabilities to screen volunteers. With more consultation rooms, phlebotomy stations and a dedicated on-site lab, we hope to be able to screen more volunteers each day and get their results back to them sooner.
In addition to our screening facilities expanding, we are also looking to expand our quarantine facilities. The space that was once the Queen Mary’s Bioenterprises Centre (“QMB”) screening clinic will now become singularly focused to exclusively conducting human challenge studies. We will be adding 7 new beds to QMB leading to a total of 31 beds at the site. This, in addition to the 19 beds in the Whitechapel hotel site and 12 beds in our new facility in Plumbers Row will give us a total of 62 beds! These new facilities provide FluCamp with the options of running Phase I and Phase II vaccine field trials, a wider range of pharmaceutical studies and patient trials, (trials involving those who the treatments are designed to help).
Our Bigger Business
The increased volunteer recruitment capacity will enable FluCamp to recruit larger cohorts quicker than before, allowing us to run more trials and trials more often. It will also allow us to offer a wider range of trials meaning more volunteers should be eligible more often.
